School Trip to Xi'an

No PreeChina student group has travelled to Xi'an yet. The two completed trips and the 2027 route use Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Beijing, and the programme says that other routes can be drawn through Xi'an, Chengdu and Shenzhen. This page sets out how a Xi'an leg would be built, from the Terracotta Army unit and from the city guide.

An assembly line two thousand years old

Unit U7 on the curriculum page uses the Terracotta Army. Students identify moulded parts, trace marks of work to individual makers and watch a restoration step. The unit connects to AP World History (empires) and IB MYP technology. The school's coordinator confirms the fit against the current course documents.

The tasks work at the site itself because the evidence is on the figures: standard parts, repeated forms, and the marks that show how the work was divided. The Terracotta Army page sets out what the site holds and how to read it.

How a Xi'an leg would be built

  • A separate leg. Xi'an sits apart from the Shanghai, Hangzhou and Beijing route, so it would be drawn as its own leg and connected by high-speed rail. PreeChina secures rail seats for the whole group on one service, as early as sales allow.
  • Light travel days. On a day with a long rail leg, little else is added, and the departure morning holds nothing else.
  • Group bookings. The Terracotta Army, museums and any campus session are booked as groups and confirmed in writing before departure.
  • A draft, not a package. The route is drawn with the school, the tight days and optional parts are marked, and nothing is booked until a priced itinerary is agreed.

Questions and answers
