Summer and Winter Camps in China for International Students

A camp week is a student group tour with a fixed daily rhythm. PreeChina builds camp programmes for schools and agencies that want a week or two in China for students aged 8 to 16, with the same coaches, hotels and group bookings as any other student group tour.

Summer camp in China: how a camp week is built

A summer camp in China built by PreeChina has one main activity in the morning, a hands-on session in the afternoon and a short class or reflection in the evening. Travel days are kept light, and the first day leaves room for rest after the flight and the time difference.

Hands-on sessions in a camp week can include a tea masterclass, a craft session, a campus visit and a city walk with a task. The class sessions follow the pattern of the group trips: two hours in the hotel on arrival day, ninety minutes on the fullest day.

Summer camp in China for international students

This summer camp is planned for groups: a school, a language school or an agency, with its own teachers or group leaders. A summer camp in China for kids and for teens differs in pace and in the tasks set, not in the structure of the week.

China summer camp for teens and kids

Camp groups are not enrolled in Chinese schools and do not take courses for credit. A summer camp China group travels together and goes home together. A China summer camp for teens can follow an interest such as tea, craft, history or technology, and a summer camp in China for foreigners of any nationality uses the same programme.

The school or agency states the age group, the group size and the dates, and the route is drawn from that.

Summer camp in Shanghai, China

A summer camp in Shanghai, China can use the city as a base for the whole week, with day trips to Suzhou and Hangzhou. A Chinese summer camp in China of this kind keeps the group in one hotel, which removes the hotel changes that take time on a longer route.

A base-city camp suits younger groups and shorter stays. A three-city route, as in the sample itinerary, suits older groups who can manage the long coach and rail days.

China winter camp

A China winter camp follows the same weekly rhythm. The programme is chosen to suit the season, with more indoor sessions in the north and a lighter outdoor day. Groups planning a winter camp name the dates and the home country's school calendar, and the route is drawn to fit.

A Chinese summer camp in China and other names for the same trip

Schools and agencies call a camp by several names: a Chinese summer camp in China, a China youth camp, an international summer camp China programme, a summer and winter camp. PreeChina treats all of them as one product: a group, a week, a rhythm.

A week of camp-style sessions on a 2026 trip

A camp week mixes lessons, hands-on sessions and outings. These photographs were taken by PreeChina on a seven day trip in 2026 and show four of those formats: a heritage craft workshop, a class session on a university campus, an evening show and an outing by boat.

What a camp is not

  • Not a long-term language course or a school placement.
  • Not a programme for individual children. Camps are for groups with their own leaders.
  • Not a fixed brochure. Dates, route and age group are agreed first, then confirmed in writing.

See the safety page and the teacher FAQ for supervision and for what PreeChina needs to start.
