IB CAS Trip to China

An IB CAS trip to China gives students reflection material in three ways, and the same week can serve other IB subjects. The school's coordinator confirms every fit against the current IB documents, because they change.

How a week produces CAS material

  • The daily log. Date, place, weather, what was done, what was learned. It can be used as a CAS reflection record.
  • Hands-on sessions. Pottery and craft sessions fit the Creativity strand. See Unit U4.
  • Service. A group that cleans, plants or teaches during the week can add a service element if the school asks for one.

The same trip and other IB subjects

  • IB DP Environmental Systems and Societies (water management): Unit U2
  • IB DP Geography (landforms)
  • IB TOK (how a museum frames a story): Unit U8
  • IB MYP design and technology (joinery and load): Unit U1

What it costs

Fees follow the length of the whole trip, for groups of 10 or more (10 included): USD 100 per person for trips of up to 10 days, USD 150 for 11 to 20 days, and an individual quote beyond 20 days. Hotels, meals, transport, tickets and other trip expenses are separate unless the agreed quotation says otherwise. See the cost page.
